Balmain Dockers women's football club surged towards finals footy with an emphatic ten goal defeat of minor premiers, Western Wolves last Saturday. Read match report.

Balmain Dockers men get behind Friday night game

Members of the Balmain Dockers men's teams braved some winter westerly winds to support the women's team in their clash with Newtown last Friday night. The Dockers came out firing but the Breakaways played 4 quarters of footy and stole the match from Balmain's grasp. Read match report.

Dockers ten goal quarter breaks goal kicking hoodoo!

After a slow start in the match against 5th placed St George on Saturday, the Dockers played picture book footy in the third quarter kicking 10 goals to seal the match. Final score 17. 13. 115 to 1.1.7. Balmain play Newtown this Friday night at Jubilee oval. See fixtures for all match reports.

Dockers inaccurate but dominate again in round 8

Dockers will be training in front of goals this week after kicking an inaccurate 10. 27. 87 in their defeat of Easts/UNSW 1.1.7 last Saturday at the Village Green.

Dockers captain Natasha Devlin wins player of theNatasha Devlin chats with Leo Barry match

To celebrate the launch of Mahoney Park as 2008 home of Sydney women's AFL and community football weekend, SWAFL hosted guests including swans backman 'Leaping' Leo Barry and representatives of the NSW/ACT AFL and Marrickville Council on Saturday 10 May.

Following official proceedings, Leo Barry presented a match ball to the player of the first match of the day held between Sydney University and Balmain Dockers. The recipient was a surprised Dockers captain, Natasha Devlin.

DOCKERS win round robin!!

The Balmain Dockers women's footy team showed their depth with a strong win over arch rivals Wests in the final of the preseason SWAFL round robin held in early April. Easily defeating Easts and St George to make the final, the Dockers under strength, and without a bench, steam rolled Wests in the second half to win 31 to 13.

Balmain Tigers Women's AFL form new partnership with the Fremantle Football Club

The Balmain Tigers are now officially a Partner Club of the Fremantle Dockers Football Club and will from 2008, play as the Balmain Dockers Women's Football Club in the Sydney Women's AFL competition.

2008 season
